12/8/2023 DI1 day 4- CalPeg

palmavenue

Unfortunately Amora was one of the kids who had an anaphylactic reaction to the cal-peg.

They started her infusion after pre-medicating with benedryl and steroids. She was asleep, and about 30 seconds after beginning the infusion she started coughing. She said it was getting hard to breathe.

Her oxygen started dropping but the nurse staff was on top of it. They were ready with oxygen, they pulled the drug out of her central line, and administered epinephrine.

Thank you God for the quickness of the staff. They were on it! Praise God. She is okay, and has quickly fallin back asleep. Her vitals are good and she is being monitored for the next hour.

My princess. In order to replace this drug, that her body didn’t accept, we will have to visit the clinic 3 times a week so that Amora can get chemo administered via a deep muscle shot in her leg.

6 doses.

We can do this. #AmoraStrong

I wish I could take your place. I’m so very proud of you baby.
